Dream (2/16): Cocteau Twins at the Refugee Camp With Invisible Elk

Posted by

Its not uncommon for dreams I have to feature music. In this case its the music of The Cocteau Twins.

In the dream there was a refugee camp in the woods. Thousands of people, taking shelter. There is a great deal of cognitive dissonance between the angelic, inhuman texture of the music and the gritty, physical suffering of the people.

Meanwhile, I am a perimeter guard, scanning the horizon with night vision goggles.

Its not clear what I am protecting us from, but I become alarmed to see a cluster of shapes in the distance. I focus the night vision goggles, only to discover the shapes are actually swarms are masses of elk, otherwise invisible to the naked eye because they are lying down.

Later on, I am trying to play electric guitar, and keep popping the high-E string. Very annoying, since the high-E is apparently missing from all the replacement string packages.
